‘A Separation’ actor Peyman Maadi to make film

Renowned Iranian actor Peyman Maadi is set to make his own movie.

Renowned Iranian actor Peyman Maadi who has played in Iranian Oscar-winning film ‘A Seperation’ is set to helm a new movie.

Maadi said in an Iranian Television show on Thursday that his new film ‘Bomb’ is in development, adding that “my film will be ready for” the next edition of Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The internationally acclaimed Iranian actor also noted that he plans to helm two more movies besides ‘Bomb’.

His upcoming film narrates a story related to Iraq-Iran war and Iranian mega star Leila Hatami has already joined the cast of this movie.

Born in New York, Maadi returned to Iran when he was five and grew up in Tehran. An actor, scriptwriter and director, he is best known for acting in Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning movie ‘A Separation’ (2011).

His leading role in the movie brought him a Silver Bear award for Best Actor from the Berlin International Film Festival in 2011.

Iranian blockbuster hit ‘Life+1 Day’ by first timer Saeed Roustaee also featured Moaadi with the film winning a total of nine Crystal Simorgh awards at the closing ceremony of the 34th Fajr Film Festival—a new record for the number of awards grabbed by a movie at any of the previous FFF editions.
